Presented by: Dennis J. Powers, AIC, ARM, SCLA, CPCU, Vice President, Lamb, Little & Co.

Do you ever wonder why your Workers Compensation premiums are so high? Understanding the financial impact that Workers Compensation has on an employer can be a very daunting task. How do they calculate my premiums? What is the impact of my experience rating? How do I correctly report claims? Am I better off paying the small claims out of pocket so my premiums don't escalate?

This session will detail the basic fundamentals for employers to better understand their Workers' Compensation and what the driving factors are that increase or decrease the overall cost. In addition, it will further describe how to employ aggressive claims management and proper accident investigation techniques so that you are spending less on your annual insurance premiums and contributing more to your bottom line.

    In this session you will

    • Understand your experience rating and how it can lower or raise your premiums
    • Discuss "Freeze those facts" - a toolkit to investigating accidents and fighting insurance fraud
    • Learn how to correctly report claims - if you're doing it wrong it could be costing you $$$$$$
